So many miracles, so little time.
HEI HEI EVERYONE!
For you I have created a pictorial journey through my 2nd week in Moss, Norway.
(oh by the way I realized that I did not make a post last week, but I made it to Norway! Woo! Crazy but awesome and I am loving the work already! My comps were sister Vega and Sister Nielson, but that changed, as explained below!)
let's just start with this beautiful picture:
This here is called a sjokolade crossiant. Thus far these have been my favorite Norwegian Dessert! There is also something called Softis:
Now these are just icecream..not really anything too special about them, but if you come to Norway have some! why not? But I've heard many rumors about all the other magical desserts of Norway..I will keep you all updated when I have partaken of them.
Besides that, we are in an area with TONS of amazing members who LOVE to feed us. I don't think I have ever eaten so much food in my entire life. And it sounds easy enough to just EAT! But nope, its a hard life us missionaries lead. I will tell you what. Besides all the magical food, there are also other miracles.. LIKE TONS AND TONS OF BABY KITTENS:
This was definetly a highlight of our week. AND I DONT EVEN LIKE CATS! But man, we have been blessed. haha
Another miracle is the fact that even our little town gets to have some historical fun. We lucked out by randomly walking into one of Moss' big days..They were reinacting the event where Norway won againt Sweden, and kicked them out of Oslo-allowing Norway to become its own kingdom! YAY! WE WON! It made me feel very patriotic. And also, confused that Moss actually has that many people living here hahha Everyone was out watching this!
There's also days where you get to enjoy a little bit of Norway's nature, we took a little trail through the fairytale forest and I absolutely loved it.
This is one of our last days with Søster Nielson. Sadly she has had to move to a city up from ours, and has completely saved the day. But she will be dearly missed. This just means I need to learn Norwegian at an even faster pase! Wooooo!
There's an overview of a bit of our city! Its adorable.
Now onto the most important of the miracles-THE SPIRITUAL MIRACLES!
My Norwegian triple came in the mail! WOO!!! (Søster Hess and I never got one in the MTC, so we pretty much barrowed everyone's for the whole 6 weeks.)
We also had some miracles with our contacting and calling-Søster Vega had just said that she missed investigators who would ask a ton of questions that would cause her to think and study, the very next day we called a guy who asked a billion really interesting questions and now we are meeting with him on Tuesday! It should be awesome.
And yesterday was Stake Conference!! Wooo! It was so much fun meeting other missionaries serving in Norway and to say hi to our ward members!! Plus the talks were FANTASTIC. (this is right before we left-infront of my favorite yellow wall of course. It also snowed on our way to Oslo, so that was crazy!)
I just wanted to leave with a talk that has inspired me this week:
This is an amazing talk to really get you thinking about where you are in life, and where you could be. I have seen the amazing blessings and growth that can come from just asking our Heavenly Father what more I can do to better follow Him.
I love you all so much, and I love serving our God and His Son Jesus Christ. I have never felt so much peace from such a huge and drastic change as this.
God be with you!
Love always,
Søster Hutchings
